Volunteers Needed: Kensington Meal Site
We need help to run the Kensington outdoor meal site, Monday through Friday, 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tasks include setting up and breaking down food service, warmly greeting and serving people grab-and-go meals and water, and helping remind people of social distancing. Register for volunteer shifts.

Homeless Services Operational Updates
From March 13 to June 19, the homeless assistance system served 5,816 people in emergency shelter; distributed 459,169 shelter meals; moved 416 people into transitional, rapid rehousing, or permanent housing; and performed 535 screenings for COVID-19 symptoms at intake. Read the latest by-the-numbers summary.

Entering Green Phase
Philadelphia entered a modified, restricted green phase of reopening on July 3. Although some COVID-19 restrictions have been lifted, not all activities can restart right away. Stay informed and read the brief Reopening with Care: Philadelphia’s Strategy for Moving to Green.

In partnership with the Office of Domestic Violence Strategies, this course offers insight and strategies for working with youth victims and survivors of domestic violence. Register. 

Housing First Harm Reduction Learning Opportunity
It's important that all staff working in homeless services understand the basics regarding housing first and harm reduction. This course reviews strategies that are currently being used to service the most chronically homeless individual. PhilaHMIS Trainings
Standard housing, provider, and non-funded provider trainings are offered online via the iSpring Learning Management System (LMS). Complete online.

CEA-BHRS
E-learning trainings are being offered for providers that utilize Philadelphia’s coordinated entry system. Trainings will assist in ensuring the highest need and most vulnerable households are prioritized for assistance. Complete online.

HMIS Privacy and Security Standards
E-learning training for providers with systems or environments that store clients' personal information. Training will assist in better securing details that are collected daily. This training must be completed once per year for all PhilaHMIS users. Complete online.

Philadelphia Housing Development Corporation (PHDC) has launched a new application process for acquiring vacant land for a side yard, affordable housing, and business expansion. If you're interested in acquiring a publicly owned property, fill out an application.
